ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

Giving back is one of the most meaningful parts of being an AOII. As a chapter, we are proud to support arthritis research and advocacy through our partnership with the Arthritis Foundation. Throughout the year, our sisters come together to host philanthropy events such as Smoke Out Arthritis, AOPi in the Face, relay races, and community service projects that raise both awareness and funds for causes that make a lasting impact. Last semester alone, our chapter raised over $26,000 for the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation. We also locally support the We Hope Foundation to help women and children in homelessness.Service is also an important part of our chapter culture. Whether we are participating in local cleanups, volunteering throughout the community, or supporting organizations that align with our values, our sisters are committed to making a difference beyond campus. Through philanthropy and service, we are able to strengthen our bonds as sisters while supporting causes that are bigger than ourselves.
